Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan Joins Anne Arundel County Food Bank in Distributing Holiday Gifts to Every Branch of the Anne Arundel County Boys and Girls Club

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan today joined the Anne Arundel County Food Bank in distributing holiday gifts to the Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County. The donation will go to over 400 children in need across Anne Arundel County. The distribution is part of a larger drive this season in which the Anne Arundel County Food Bank will be donating gifts to over 18 nonprofit organizations and 1500 children across the state.

“The holidays are often a difficult time for many families in need,” said First Lady Yumi Hogan. “I commend the work of the Anne Arundel County Food Bank in bringing joy to our children this season.”

Founded in 1986, the Anne Arundel County Food Bank was established to collect, purchase, and distribute food to not-for-profit organizations in Anne Arundel County.  The Food Bank works alongside local, county, community, and civic organizations to provide essential basic necessities to those in need and to help families and individuals get out of crisis and become self-sufficient.

The Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all youth from the ages of 6 to 18 have access to affordable afterschool, and out-of-school, programs. Clubs are open every day after school from 2pm to 7pm, during school breaks, and during the summer, when youth are most likely to engage in unsupervised and risky behavior. Currently there are five branches of the Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County; with locations in Annapolis, Pasadena, and Severn.
