Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism Announces 20th Anniversary of the M&T Bank and Baltimore Ravens Honor Rows Program, Open Nomination Period

Program Has Recognized 13,000 Youth Volunteers to Date

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism today announced, in partnership with M&T Bank and the Baltimore Ravens, the 20th anniversary of the M&T Bank Honor Rows program. The program, which has recognized nearly 13,000 youth volunteers, is now accepting nominations for youth groups and organizations that have provided extraordinary volunteer service in communities throughout Maryland. Selected groups will receive up to 100 tickets to a Ravens home game during the 2019-2020 season, an Honor Rows T-shirt for all participants, a pre-game on-field visit, and in-game recognition on the RavensVision board.

“The Honor Rows program has been a great collaboration between M&T Bank, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism,” said Van Brooks, director of the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism. “We are excited to announce the 20th year of the program and our continued partnership to recognize the amazing service that youth volunteers provide local communities to change Maryland for the better.”

To qualify, organizations must complete an application and provide a 100-word essay describing their volunteer service. The groups are then evaluated based on the match of their mission to the community’s needs, the number of people served, and measurable impact detailed in their application. Honorees are selected by a panel of youth service leaders with the assistance of the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism, the Baltimore Ravens, and M&T Bank.

Applications for the program are now being accepted, and the deadline to submit applications is August 19, 2019. For more information and to submit a nomination, visit: http://gosv.maryland.gov/honor-rows/.
