Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford will virtually participate during the 4th Black History Month Leadership & Service Awards on February 26, 2021 by providing closing remarks via video. The Governor’s Office on Service & Volunteerism invites all Marylanders to join them as they highlight each Black History Month Leadership & Service honoree on their social media channels through photos and videos during the last week of February. For the fourth year, the Governor’s Office on Service & Volunteerism will recognize the contributions of African Americans, and the larger diaspora, by highlighting leaders who are spearheading significant service and volunteerism across Maryland. Eight honorees will be celebrated for their commitment to strengthening Maryland communities and making a lasting impact. The Office believes it is more important than ever to recognize those who are rising up to serve and volunteer, to persevere, and to strengthen our communities.
